X Class Steam
Locomotive Kit
Production of the previously
announced kit of the VR X class 2-8-2 heavy goods locomotive is now
confirmed.
It is planned to have a pilot
model available for inspection in early to mid 2010, with
production models available about 6 months later in late 2010.
The model will be in postwar
condition with belpaire boiler, modified
front end, booster and alternative parts covering major variations in
the class.
The kits will have a
similar specification to the S Class and R Class kits and include the
following features:
- Mashima motor with North Yard
gearbox.
- Romford driving wheels with
RP-25 tyres and SEM leading, trailing and tender wheels .
- Includes precision etched brass
body and nickel silver chassis parts, detailed lost wax brass parts and
cast whitemetal for major body parts.
- Includes alternative lattice
and plate cowcatchers, alternative cast and fabricated trailing trucks
and a range of etched numberplates in each kit.
A reduced price of $665.00 applies for orders secured with a $200.00
deposit by the end of November 2009. After that date the price will be
$695.00.

Tooling has commenced for our next rolling stock kit which will be the
autocoupled version of the 3 door QR wagon.
- The kit
will be modelled as running from the 1950's until scrapping in the
1980's.
- Injection
moulded parts, with etched brass detail parts and decals. Will require
only paint and couplers to complete.
- Available
with a choice of one of three bogies, plateframe, barframe and 40 ton
cast steel.
- The kit is
planned for release at
the 2010 Hobson's Bay Exhibition.

S Class Steam
Locomotive Kit
The
streamlined S class
Steam Locomotive kit is now out of stock.
Another run may be made in late 2010 if sufficient
orders have been placed.
